Welcome

Designed to help prevent rural and agricultural related health risks, the Agromedicine Program provides information and educational programs to rural residents and farm workers that increase their understanding of rural health and safety issues. In addition, the program tracks the occurrence, outcomes, and trends of agricultural illness and injury in Mississippi. Our program consists of two major goals and several initiatives designed to achieve those goals. Our first goal is to deliver high-quality information and educational programs to rural residents and farm workers that will increase awareness and address rural health and safety issues. Our second goal is to track the occurrence, outcomes, and trends of agricultural illness and injury in Mississippi through cooperation with physicians and their staffs, to develop an injury and illness surveillance, reporting, and data analysis system.
